What “progress” means here

We don’t promise magic results. We promise a structured process: baseline check → targeted teaching → exam-style practice → checkpoints → clear next steps. Parents and students know exactly what to focus on and why.

Students learning with a tutor
1

1-to-1 Tuition

Personalised lessons that target gaps quickly and build confidence.

2

Small Classes

Structured teaching + guided practice in a focused group.

3

Study Buddy

How it works

A simple system parents can trust.

Most tuition fails because it’s inconsistent. We keep it structured so students know exactly what they’re working on and why.

1
Assess Quick diagnostic to identify gaps and confirm Foundation vs Higher direction.
2
Plan We map a pathway so lessons build logically (not random worksheets).
3
Teach Clear explanation + worked examples + guided practice.
4
Practice Exam-style questions with mark-scheme thinking (how to earn marks).
5
Track Regular checkpoints so we adjust focus and avoid wasted time.

Standards & safeguarding

Run professionally. Clear expectations. Child-first.

We operate with school-level professionalism: clear behaviour expectations, structured lessons, and safeguarding at the centre of what we do.

Safeguarding-first culture Clear safeguarding contact and policy. Professional boundaries and reporting expectations are non-negotiable.
Tutor quality controls We require identity checks, references, and appropriate DBS checks before tutors teach. We also standardise lesson delivery.
Measurable progress routines Baseline check, topic pathway, exam practice, and checkpoints. Students leave each lesson knowing what to do next.
FAQs

Questions parents usually ask.

If you’re comparing centres, this is the part that matters: what actually happens week to week, and how we handle different ability levels.

How do you decide Foundation vs Higher?

We use a short diagnostic and in-lesson questioning to see where marks are being lost. Some students are working at Higher but have Foundation gaps — we fix the basics fast, then move up.

My child is far behind. Can you still help?

Yes — but we don’t pretend it’s magic. We prioritise the highest-impact topics first (the ones that unlock the most marks), build confidence through structured practice, and track progress so time isn’t wasted.

Do you set homework and revision tasks?

Yes. Homework matches what was taught in the lesson so students don’t practise the wrong method. We focus on exam-style questions rather than endless worksheets.

What happens in a trial session?

We assess current level, teach a short topic to show our approach, then explain the best next steps (1-to-1, small class, or Study Buddy). If we’re not the right fit, we’ll say so.

How do small classes work — will my child get attention?

We keep groups focused and structured. Teaching is clear and short, then students practise while the tutor checks method and fixes mistakes. If a student needs 1-to-1 support, we’ll recommend it.

Which exam board do you teach?

We teach GCSE Maths in an exam-board-aware way. The core maths is the same, and we use exam-style questions aligned to common board formats (including Edexcel-style, AQA-style, and OCR-style).

How to start

Start with a GCSE Maths trial session. We assess gaps, confirm level, and recommend the best format (1-to-1, small class, or Study Buddy).

Call to book a trial slot.
Email us the student’s year group and availability.
Why this works

Students don’t improve from “more hours” alone — they improve when practice is targeted and feedback is precise. We build method, then exam technique, then speed and accuracy.
